When Shronit Ladhani dropped out of JEE preparations, he was told that he won’t be able to do anything in his life, given his carefree, curious and multi-potentiality. But in that moment, he had firmly decided that he will do something to prove himself. Fast forward a few years, he found himself in various leadership positions in AIESEC.

Shronit was disappointed with the Indian education system that lacked values and teachings to be implemented in real life. “It made me more aware that there was so much to learn and do,” he says in an interview with Chaaipani.

After getting out of college, he got a job at a VC. But it was followed by multiple rejections since he did not come from an IIT or IIM. It strengthened his drive to fill the loopholes of the education system. And that’s when he launched his own angel investment fund with a few partners.

“I was judged on the basis of my college. I needed to solve this problem,” he recalls. Shronit started researching and meeting like-minded people to evaluate ways in which he could help other students and also create an impact.

As a believer of the popular saying, ‘You can either feed a man or teach him how to feed himself’, he started working to build a model where he could create courses with the companies and do something to help students discover multiple career opportunities apart from their conventional courses.

After a few years, Shronit quit his job and started CareerNinja, a young social venture in the Edu-media space. It aims to inspire, educate and guide undergraduate and graduate students to better discover the career opportunities and achieve their goals.

“India has an estimated seven million people graduating every year, of which 70-80% are often deemed unemployable because of lack of guidance. The problem is that the university system doesn’t help to enhance their skills and many a time, students are not motivated enough to educate themselves,” tells Shronit.

They are not questioned in a way where they know their interest and passion, he adds. To bridge this gap, CareerNinja is inspiring students by putting out relevant and informative content to help the students challenge their traditional learning and get an insight about different career opportunities which are both cool and possible. They also give them insights to help the figure out the precise work in a vast space.

Shronit, who is driven by growth, impact and travel, believes that education should help people live better lives and not just get a job. With CareerNinja, he is trying to build a community to help people unlearn the traditional beliefs related to education and discover a world which is far beyond degrees, IITs and IIMs and secure jobs.
