Since its inception in 2014, the Under25 Summit has truly been the most engaging and largest youth festival in the country. The festival has engaged in person with over 50,000 individuals under the age of 25 years across India. This year the theme of the festival is ‘BELONG TOGETHER’ signifying the coming together of communities that impact the youth of the country today. The summit will cover topics such as Design, Technology, Music, Food, Comedy, Film, Content, Sports, Literature, Fitness, Art and so on.
Under 25 is a media and entertainment company for the youth and young. A Bangalore based organization founded by Anto Philip and Shreyans Jain in 2013 as 19-year old college students, Under 25 is involved in the live events and content space with a specific focus on the youth. The festival brings together the best hackers, makers, entrepreneurs, musicians, chefs, bakers, designers, artists and young achievers from all over the country. Over the last 4 years, the festival has travelled to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Mangalore, Manipal, and Bengaluru in many avatars.
This year the festival has been curated to run along 6 days (12th to 18th Feb) in Bengaluru. Under 25 Summit will play host to numerous interesting speakers this year. IPS officer, Divakar Roopa Moudgil, the first woman Kannadiga IPS officer serving in Karnataka, Anil Shetty, the President of NAV Bharat Democratic party, multiple Guinness Book of World Records winner and India’s leading choreographer, dancer, and TV judge, Terence Lewis, Shwetambari Shetty, one amongst the country’s five fittest women and also one of the only two Zumba master trainers in India today, General Secretary of the Bengaluru District Youth Congress, Mohammed Haris Nalapad who is passionately working towards solving issues faced by the youngsters of our city are just a few. The grand finale will be held at YMCA Grounds, Nrupathunga Road, Bengaluru.
In 2017 alone, the Under 25 Summit in Bengaluru saw it’s biggest ever audience of 10,000 attendees over 4 days with the finale at the Jayamahal Palace. Keynote speakers included Arnab Goswami who launched Republic at the event, comedians Tanmay Bhat, Kenny Sebastian, Mallika Dua, and Bhuvan Bam as well as Chef Anahita Dhondy of SodaBottleOpenerWala, 6 year old prodigy and chef and a guest on the Ellen DeGeneres show Nihal Raja, 19 year old acid attack survivor Reshma Qureshi, octogenarian biker R Chakravarthy, and triple-century batsman Karun Nair amongst others. The festival also saw performances by The Fanculos, Lagori, Skrat, and Parvaaz. The 2017 edition had 1 main stage, a stage ‘Under The Tree’ that featured stories of travellers and artists, and busking performances, experience zones, live art presentations, a VR area, board games, and other activities.
With Speaker Sessions, Panel Discussions, Workshops, Performances, a Flea Market and an incredible energy, there is something for everyone at the Under 25 Summit.
